This isn’t going to do much to soften House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s image as a political manipulator. When the Democratic
National Committee came up with a resolution to honor her, it wasn’t good enough. Pelosi had her daughter Christine, a political strategist, ask for some additions, and they were approved,
Politico reports.
First, Pelosi wanted to tack on a citation of her fight against HIV and AIDS, because it was "why she went to Congress," Christine Pelosi told the news service. Nancy Pelosi also wanted a paragraph added to recognize her "accomplishments for equality," singling out the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009 and last December’s repeal of "don't ask, don't tell."
Finally, Pelosi wanted recognition that she “will continue the fight for America's working families," her daughter said. The changes were approved on a voice vote.
