Dangers of Sugar, Additives, and Toxins

By    |   Tuesday, 02 March 2021 04:38 PM

One aspect of life that has changed greatly — mostly for the worse — since I was a child is the diet that most Americans eat. Sugar consumption has risen astronomically, and the medical establishment convinced people that polyunsaturated oils such as corn, peanut, safflower, sunflower, soybean, and canola oils were the healthiest kinds of fats you could consume.

In addition, the so-called “authorities” controlling federal nutritional education convinced the public that their diet should mostly consist of grains and other high-glycemic carbohydrates.

While those measures damaged people’s health, the worst things, at least nutritionally, were yet to come.

That’s because corn became the favorite crop of the agriculture department when it was discovered that sugar could be extracted from it in the form of high-fructose corn syrup.

Suddenly, this potentially harmful sugar (fructose) was being added not only to obviously sweetened products, it also became a hidden ingredient in many other foods.

Another threat that has been attached to our diet — mostly without our knowing — is food additives, especially those containing glutamate:

• Monosodium glutamate (MSG)

• Hydrolyzed protein extract

• Soy extract

• Soy isolate

• Soy protein concentrate

• Sodium and calcium caseinate

• Autolyzed yeast

And those are just the additives that contain glutamate.

Why is this a problem? Because glutamate is what’s known as an “excitatory amino acid.” It causes specialized brain cells to become excited, and in higher concentrations, or under special conditions, it can be terribly destructive.

In addition, our food supply is contaminated with dyes, toxic metals, and residues of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and other industrial chemicals — many of which have entered the water supply.

Glyphosate, the main ingredient in the herbicide Roundup, has been detected in most commercial foods, as well as ground water, medications, and even vaccines.

What makes the situation worse is that many of these environmental contaminants are accumulative, meaning they build up in your body over time.
