Donald Trump took to Twitter on Monday to praise law enforcement for arresting the New York City bombing suspect while also criticizing the country's current immigration policies.
Ahmed Khan Rahami was taken into custody after a shootout with police in Linden, New Jersey. Rahami is a naturalized American citizen who was born in Afghanistan.
The comment echoes Trump's assertions in the past that the country's intelligence doesn't know anything about citizens like Rahami.
"Most incredibly, because to me this is unbelievable, we have no idea who these people are, where they come from," Trump said recently in Phoenix. "I always say Trojan horse. Watch what's going to happen, folks. It's not going to be pretty."
Trump also praised law enforcement on the arrest, during which two officers were wounded.
Trump last week received an endorsement from the Fraternal Order of Police.
