It doesn't look like RNC Chairman
Reince Priebus' call for GPO presidential candidate Donald Trump to tone down his rhetoric on illegal immigration is having much effect.
Trump, meeting with Friends of Abe, the secretive group of Hollywood conservatives, on Friday, told the group the United States made a mistake invading Iraq and taking away a needed buffer with Iran,
LA Weekly reports, quoting an anonymous attendee.
"Instead, we should have invaded Mexico," Trump told the group, to rousing applause, the source said.
Trump also told the group that if he is elected president he would "blow up the oil wells" the Islamic State (ISIS) uses to fund its operations.
Author Ann Coulter reportedly was in attendance, and actor Nick Searcy entered wearing a Mexican wrestling mask.
"I had to wear this to get past 'em," Searcy said, referring to protesters outside the venue.
Actors Lou Ferrigno, Paul Sorvino, and Morgan Brittany also were reportedly in the invitation-only audience.
