Mike Huckabee says Americans should take polls that show Donald Trump's presidential campaign is in deep trouble with a big grain of salt.
"Polls taken before Labor Day and the Presidential debates are notoriously subject to change, but that hasn't stopped the pundits from proclaiming that Trump's campaign is tanking," the former governor of Arkansas and two-time presidential candidate writes on his Facebook page.
"They should know that the next few months, not current polls, will tell the tale. One thing to keep in mind is that Trump still packs 'em in at his personal appearances, and Hillary [Clinton], well, doesn't."
Among the surveys that show Trump's numbers plummeting following his criticism of the family of a slain Muslim American soldier is the CNN Poll of Polls, which tallies the results of six major polls conducted after the two political parties wrapped up their conventions in late July.
It gives Hillary Clinton a 10-point lead over Donald Trump, even when third party candidates Gary Johnson and Jill Stein are included.
