Strengthened by burgeoning support from women, Donald Trump is tied with Hillary Clinton with less than a week before the election, according to the latest IBD/TIPP poll released Wednesday.

The results:

  • Trump: 44 percent.
  • Clinton: 44 percent.
  • Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson: 4 percent.
  • Unsure: 4 percent.

Trump, despite his lewd comments about women that surfaced from 11 years ago and the double-digit accusations levied against him for sexual harassment, is powered by returning support from women.

Trump's support from women has increased by 5 points since last weekend, giving him 39 percent of the vote from women, right where Mitt Romney was in 2012, according to the poll.

Further, Trump is faring better with independents (48 percent to 46 percent) and working class voters (50 percent to 35 percent) than Romney.

Hillary Clinton is getting 51 percent of support from women.

In a head-to-head matchup, Trump and Clinton remain tied at 44 percent with 7 percent unsure.

Results based on survey of 862 likely voters conducted from Oct. 28 - Nov. 1. Margin of error: +/- 3.4 percentage points.
