The 2024 Crosstrek goes big on capability in a compact SUV package thanks to the legendary traction of standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and 8.7 inches of ground clearance.

The Crosstrek is a sub-compact SUV that has been around for over a decade and for 2024, this Subaru is even better with the redesigned 3rd generation model. The Crosstrek is still built on an Impreza platform, but the Crosstrek has some huge changes.

The Crosstrek Sport comes standard with the bigger 2.5L Subaru Boxer engine and its latest design adopts some cues from the new WRX, including its dual-pinion steering system. The Crosstrek uses a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

Inside the Subaru is a ton of road and wind noise that can make conversations in the car difficult. The steering is responsive, there’s not a lot of body roll, and the turning circle is pretty small. I can say without hesitation that the Crosstrek was a fun SUV to drive.

The seats are comfortable and very supportive. The rear seats pleasantly comfortable, with more than enough head and legroom. The Crosstrek now comes with Subaru’s EyeSight suite of advanced driver-assist systems as standard on all trims, the way it should be for all automakers.

The center touchscreen is large, and it displays Apple CarPlay in a vertical screen, like a Tesla. Easy to use large buttons makes this an easy to use interface.

The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is worth taking for a test drive if you need a reliable all-wheel drive SUV.
