The stock market has been on fire this year. But some people like to drive their investments or prefer to invest in something they can actually touch and feel. We go over a Bull Market list and give you our own suggestions on what to buy to increase your portfolio and which cars retain the most value?

Collectable automobiles are a great idea if you own the right cars and do your research you can make money and be ahead of the game. The secret is getting the right vehicles at the right time. Each year Hagerty.com create a Bull Market List. We don’t agree 100%, so let’s take a look.

Over the past four years, that’s what Hagerty’s Bull Market list has been all about highlighting fun cars, across a variety of budgets and tastes, that we believe are poised to rise in value over the next 12 months.

This isn’t a get-rich-quick list for flippers; it’s a tip sheet to help enthusiasts get their cake and maybe eat it, too. And it’s informed by our analysis of all the market data Hagerty has at its disposal.

Forecasting is always risky, as was so abundantly proved by the year 2020, when the world grappled with waves of unforeseen events starting with a pandemic. We are all aware that there are no guarantees.

We discuss this list of possible vehicles and others to consider:

  • 2011 - 2012 Lexus LFA
  • 2006–10 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8
  • 1984–91 Ferrari Testarossa
  • 2005–17 Aston Martin V8 Vantage
  • 1964–70 Honda S600/S800
  • 1980–91 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia
  • 2005–06 Ford GT
  • 2000–06 Audi TT Quattro
  • 1948–54 Jaguar XK120

Which cars do we believe are collectible for 2020?

  • 2020 Shelby GT500
  • 2020 Shelby GT350 / GT350R Heritage
  • 2017 - 2022 Ford GT
  • 2021 Ram TRX
  • Camaro ZL-1

The Bottom Line

When investing in any car it is important that there is a story or provenance, limited production and high demand.

All of the tips you see here and more are in my book, "Lauren Fix’s Guide to Loving Your Car."
