By    |   Tuesday, 20 December 2016 10:54 AM EST

All veterans are worthy of our sincerest gratitude for their service to our country. Many veterans have risked their lives and health, but some benefits available to them go unclaimed.

Here are some benefits available to all veterans and some that are specific to those who served in Vietnam.

1. Agent Orange health registry exam — Veterans who served in Vietnam or some areas of Korea and Thailand could be susceptible to health issues from Agent Orange exposure, says the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The VA offers a free health exam for qualified veterans to help them discover and address more effectively any related health issues.
