Henry Rifles on Gun Control: The Company's Support Of The Second Amendment

Henry Repeating Arms supports the Second Amendment by encouraging good handling of firearms, raising funds for efforts against gun control, and supporting youth shooting sports. These are some of the specific actions it has taken over the years to uphold the Second Amendment and America's gun heritage.

Henry Repeating Arms donated an 1865 lever-action rifle and a new Original Henry Rifle to the NRA Foundation for its auction. Run online by GunBroker.com, the pair of firearms generated $83,025 at the final bid. Once concluded, Henry Repeating Arms contributed an additional $16,975 to make the sum an even $100,000 to help the NRA fight efforts against gun control.

Discounts to NRA Certified Instructors: To help those who encourage responsible gun use, Henry Repeating Arms offers special prices to NRA Certified Instructors. The intention is to show appreciation for the time and effort instructors give to encourage good firearm handling and maintain safety on gun ranges.

Encouraging responsible firearm handling must start with the young and teaching youth to handle guns correctly while also having fun is the best way to meet that end. As such, Henry supports youth shooting sports and donated 200 Henry Lever Action Youth .22 rifles to the YSSA. A lightweight and compact weapon especially designed for young shooters, it is 33 inches long and weighs only four-and-a-half pounds.

By auctioning off an Original Henry Rifle Deluxe Engraved .44-40, Henry raised money to help the USA Shooting Team travel and compete. It was sold during the February 2014 Sheep Show in Reno, Nevada. The Sheep Show and its sponsor, the Wild Sheep Foundation, is a supporter of USA Shooting and its auctions feature $5 million in hunts, firearms, and equipment.

In January 2014, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul received a Henry Big Boy RPA presentation model in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Paul received the gift at the Tusk Club Dinner after he was a guest speaker for the Republican Party event.
