Business mogul and media personality Donald Trump may be considering running for president in 2016. The real estate entrepreneur has speculated about occupying the White House several times in the past but has never been an official candidate. He has however, garnered significant media attention not only for his on-again, off-again political aspirations, but also for his outspoken criticism of President Obama.

Donald Trump will join potential GOP 2016 contenders New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee as a speaker at the Iowa Freedom Summit in January 2015. He will also attend a dinner with Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad during his stay. Trump told The Des Moines Register, "I have always loved visiting Iowa. I look forward to these two special events." However, given the importance of the Iowa caucuses in the nomination process, Trump's increased presence in Iowa has served to fuel speculation about his political ambitions.

Here are seven key political positions of GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump:

1. Fiscal conservative:
Donald Trump has aligned himself with the fiscally conservative Tea Party. “I certainly seem to be in a sense. They like me, and I like them. And we have very much the same principles,” Trump told The Washington Times.

2. Taxes: Donald Trump is an advocate for tax reform. He "believes in the Reagan vision that cutting taxes spurs investment and consumer spending, which creates jobs that lead to more wealth and greater government revenue," reports The Daily Caller.

3. Healthcare: Trump makes no bones about his absolute disdain for the Affordable Care Act.

"Obamacare is a heat-seeking missile that will destroy jobs and small businesses; it will explode healthcare costs; and it will lead to healthcare that is far less innovative than it is today. Every argument that you'd make against socialism you can make against socialized healthcare, and any candidate who isn't 100 percent committed to scrapping Obamacare is not someone America should elect president."

4. Foreign policy:
Trump has been very vocal about his distrust of China, which he says is cheating the United States for "hundreds of billions of dollars by manipulating and devaluing its currency."

In his speech at CPAC 2014 Trump said, "Our leadership is so weak and so pathetic that they could get away with it, and believe me, they're taking our jobs…and China's not the only one. You look at other countries, they're doing the same thing. They have no respect for our leader."

5. American exceptionalism: Trump fully believes in American exceptionalism. "We are the greatest country the world has ever known. I make no apologies for this country, my pride in it, or my desire to see us become strong and rich again."

6. Second Amendment: As reported by The Associated Press, Donald Trump says he has a pistol permit and he is "a big Second Amendment person."

7. Social issues: When it comes to gay marriage, Trump acknowledges that values are evolving on the issue but still believes that marriage is between and man and a woman.

He has flip-flopped on the issue of abortion. For example, in "The America We Deserve" he wrote, “I support a woman’s right to choose but I am uncomfortable with the procedures.” Currently he describes his views as pro-life and credits a life-changing event that happened to a friend for the change.
