Actress Susan Sarandon says she can't support Hillary Clinton's bid to be the first women U.S. president because "she failed me" with her 2002 vote to authorize the war in Iraq.

In an interview on "CNN Newsroom" Thursday, the liberal activist said the former New York senator's pro-war vote "wasn't just a mistake, it was a disaster."

"She failed me," Sarandon declared.

In a separate interview, the actress — who is backing Sen. Bernie Sanders in the Democratic presidential nomination race, and has been stumping with him in Iowa — called Clinton's war support in 2002 showed "a real problem with the logic involved."

"That's where Hillary Clinton lost me," Sarandon told the Daily Mail.com

"I'm sorry, but for me, you can't get a bigger decision than that and we've been paying the price ever since. And I think she has to be held accountable for that."

And though Clinton, who has conceded her war vote was a mistake, went on to be secretary of state, Sarandon said, "what is experience without judgment?"

"She's had a job but what has she done that we're bragging about," she told the outlet. "How has she led?'

The actress also is critical of Clinton's belated support of gay marriage, the Daily Mail reports.

"There's a number of issues where she has come around but she very clearly equivocated or was not there in the beginning," she tells the outlet.

"She was not, and that's a matter of record, and yes she has come around, but my point is, it's great that she came around, but wouldn't it be great to be a leader instead of a follower, especially if you're going to hold the highest office in the land?"
