MSNBC's "Ronan Farrow Daily" is set to be canceled, Mediate reported, although a network spokeswoman issued a denial.

The afternoon show, hosted by the 26-year-old son of actress Mia Farrow, was introduced less than a year ago, according to Politico.

Ratings have hovered around 50,000 viewers in the sought-after 25-54 age group. In airing the program, MSNBC had wanted to attract a younger audience, though the likelihood that many millennials would be watching TV at 1 p.m. in the Eastern time zone is low, according to Mediate.

The New York Times had called the Farrow program a "dud."

The network has been buffeted by the departures of Chuck Todd and Chris Jansing while CNN's "New Day" has surpassed "Morning Joe" in ratings.

An MSNBC spokeswoman, Danielle Lynn, said the Mediate report about Farrow was "not true," Politico reported.

MSNBC President Phil Griffin said, "This has been a tough year all around. All three cable news channels are drawing a smaller combined audience than they were five years ago," the Times reported.

Farrow is a graduate of Bard College and Yale Law School. He won a prestigious Rhodes Scholarship to study at the University of Oxford.

Woody Allen is Farrow's father of record, but his mother has hinted that Frank Sinatra is his biological father.
