Climate scientist Roger Pielke, Jr. of the University of Colorado at Boulder asserts that he is on a media "no-call" list, a recent Twitter argument shows.

Pielke contacted Andrew Freedman, Mashable's science editor, asking him to correct an article that the scientist said had misquoted him.

Pielke tweeted that he would not work with Mashable due to "repeated problems in their reporting," prompting Freedman to respond, saying his tweet is the reason he's "on many reporters' 'do not call' lists despite (his) expertise."

Pielke continued to insist on a correction, and eventually Freedman simply removed Pielke's comments from the offending article entirely.

An Editor's Note added to the story says Pielke "felt he had been misquoted as disagreeing with the new study's findings. Pielke's research, in fact, is consistent with the study's findings about future storm losses."

The note goes on to cite Pielke's study examining potential future damage to the economy due to tropical cyclones such as hurricanes.

According to The Daily Caller, Pielke has testified before Congress on the effects of global warming on weather, and made enemies of Democratic legislators, who claimed he received funding from the fossil-fuels industry, tainting his research. Pielke is not a denier of man-made climate change, but he does dispute the idea that global warming is worsening severe weather.

"It is misleading and just plain incorrect to claim that disasters associated with hurricanes, tornadoes, floods or droughts have increased on climate timescales either in the United States or globally," Pielke told Congress in 2013. "It is further incorrect to associate the increasing costs of disasters with the emission of greenhouse gases."
