Former Sen. Rick Santorum received the endorsement of reality TV stars the Duggar family when he sought the Republican nomination for president in 2012.

On Thursday, he was asked by ABC's George Stephanopoulos on "Good Morning America" about the recent revelations that now-27-year-old Josh Duggar had sexually molested young girls, including some of his sisters, when he was 14 years old.

"I was sickened by it. I was just sickened by it," Santorum said. "I pray for those girls in particular. To have gone through that is just hard to think about."

Josh Duggar was featured in a video the family made in 2012 in support of Santorum. Josh Duggar has since resigned from his job at the Family Research Council and TLC has pulled airings of "19 Kids and Counting."

Santorum announced his candidacy for the 2016 race for the White House on Wednesday.
