A New York City college student was arrested Monday after he bought a hunting knife, a garrote, fireworks, and other malicious items into Trump Tower.

According to the New York Post, 19-year-old Alexander Wang walked into the building currently housing President-elect Donald Trump and his immediate family. Secret Service agents searched his backpack and discovered the items, which also included fireworks, handcuffs, and a water pistol.

Wang reportedly told Police, "I always walk with them."

According to the New York Daily News, Wang entered Trump Tower at 6:35 p.m. Monday and was subjected to the bag search after it set off a Secret Service metal detector. Aside from the aforementioned items, the Daily News reports that Wang was also carrying an eight-foot black rope, a flashlight, and a laptop.

The student told police he is a survivalist and that he had visited the building 10 other times and never had any issues with bringing his backpack and the items.

He was charged with unlawful possession of fireworks and two counts of weapons possession.
