A 550-pound elderly Ohio woman was reportedly rescued from her home after her skin molded to a living room chair where she may have been sitting since last July.

According to a Lucas County Sheriff's report, 75-year-old Barbara Foster was found by the fire department in her home in Springfield Township, Ohio, last Thursday after a church volunteer, who'd been delivering food to her for a decade, called 911 to report she wasn't "acting herself," station WTOL reported.

The church man told authorities he hadn't seen Foster anywhere but in her chair since last July; fire and rescue had to don hazmat suits to enter the home because of its filth and stench, the station reported.

According to first responders,"bones in her body were breaking as EMS tried to carry her out of the house," the sheriff's report recounted.

She was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center.

Sheriff’s investigators believe Foster moved to the area from Arizona and had taught at Toledo Public Schools, the Toledo Blade reported. She apparently had no relatives in the region, the newspaper reported.

"To see somebody not be connected just kind of breaks your heart," Pam Wilson, of the Area Office on Aging, told the newspaper.
