Software Developer: ACA Website Designers Just Lining Own Pockets

By    |   Tuesday, 26 Nov 2013 08:28 PM

Software developer Luke Chung originally thought the designers of HealthCare.gov were incompetent. Now he thinks they are purposely working to enrich themselves at the expense of taxpayers.

"Over time, I'm beginning to see that these government contractors who took over this project have essentially made every decision that favors them as much as possible – to maximize the cost to taxpayers, to maximize their profits," Chung said Tuesday on Fox News Channel's "On the Record With Greta Van Susteren."

A small company such as Chung's own FMS Inc. would be kicked out the door for such shoddy work, he said.

"But some of these large government contractors are really specializing in getting government contracts, getting change orders, and have a bunch of lawyers to defend themselves against any accusations of wrongdoing or blame," he told Fox News.

Chung earlier this fall testified before the House Homeland Security Committee about security issues on HealthCare.gov, the website for the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

Dr. Ben Carson also appeared on the CNN show Tuesday, saying many doctors are either leaving the industry or moving to concierge practices to avoid being told how to run their practices.

"People who go into medicine are very smart people, and they didn't go into something to be automatons for some bureaucrat to tell them what they could and could not do," Carson said.
