Obama Fundraiser Ticket Prices Slashed, Some by Half

Ticket prices to President Barack Obama's Monday San Francisco fundraiser have been reduced, some by half, due to slow sales.

Prices for the "cheap seats" for the Democratic National Committee luncheon fundraiser to be held at the San Francisco Jazz Center have been cut from $1,000 to $500, according to an email sent by Buell Private Political Management in San Francisco and obtained by The San Francisco Chronicle.

"We are thrilled to announce that if you have already purchased a $1,000 ticket ... your seat will now be upgraded to VIP, which includes rope line access!" said the email sent by Ella Arnold, vice president of Buell.

According to the Chronicle, organizers are cutting some of the $15,000 tickets, that get attendees into the reception with Obama, down to $10,000.

Michael Czin, DNC press secretary, said that "due to demand, we added additional space and expect the event to sell out." He added that people should be careful not to read too much into the price cuts.

This is the president's ninth visit to the Bay Area in the last years.

Following the Jazz Center event, Obama is attending a top-dollar tech roundtable fundraiser for $32,400 per person hosted at Salesforce founder Marc Benioff's San Francisco home for 20 VIP attendees.

The Associated Press reported Monday that the president is facing an unprecedented credibility problem with the American people primarily due to the issues related to the problematic rollout of Obama's signature healthcare law.

Obama's approval rating reached a new low in the latest CBS News poll released Wednesday with only 37 percent of voters saying they approved of Obama's job performance.
