Ebola Quarantine-Breaker Tweets on 'Responsibility' on Measles

NBC News medical expert Dr. Nancy Snyderman has taken to Twitter to encourage public responsibility amid a national debate over vaccinations and a measles outbreak, Mediaite reports.

The issue of whether vaccinating children was a family's choice or whether government should step in to force such shots to stem an outbreak of the deadly disease has risen to the forefront in recent weeks, according to The New York Times, as medical professionals sound off — and bump up against — some parents who eschew known scientific treatment for children.

Snyderman drew sharp criticism for what some believed was her flouting an Ebola quarantine after reporting on the epidemic in Africa, and later returning to the U.S. to move freely after officials cautioned those with exposure, The Wrap reported.

But she went on the offensive amid measles concerns, noting that science was clear that vaccinations were crucial.
