A Muslim student at the University of Michigan is coming under fire after police said she made up a story of a drunk man threatening to set her on fire because of the hijab she was wearing.

According to The Washington Post, the student — whose name has not been released — might now be charged with filing a false police report. The charge would be a felony because the crime she said happened was a felony.

The 19-year-old woman told police an intoxicated man approached her on the evening of Nov. 11 and said he would set her on fire with a lighter unless she removed her hijab. Police and FBI agents investigated the matter and found no evidence to support her claim.

The Washtenaw County prosecutor's office will now review the case and determine if charges should be filed against her.

Meanwhile, it was reported last week an 18-year-old Muslim woman who told police three drunk men shouted "Donald Trump" at her and tried to rip off her hijab had made the whole thing up. Yasmin Seweid was charged with filing a false police report in the case.
