Joe Scarborough, MSNBC's lone voice of conservatism on the left-leaning cable news channel, thanked NBC News Chairman Andy Lack on air Thursday morning for recent changes to take liberals off the air in midday.

On Thursday's "Morning Joe," Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski were discussing the words people gave in a recent poll when asked about presidential candidates.

Hillary Clinton's was "liar," Donald Trump's "arrogant," and Jeb Bush's "Bush," guest Mark Halperin said.

Scarborough said he's been the subject of such polls and said the worst thing he's ever had said about him is "he works for MSNBC."

"That was always the worst," Scarborough said, adding quickly, "Not any more, though, because things have changed. Thank you, Andy. That was the past, this is the now. Thank you very much."

Newsbusters posted a video of the exchange.

Just one day before, Lack sent out a company email announcing that the Rev. Al Sharpton's show is moving from weekday afternoons to early Sunday mornings in October. It was the last move to erase liberal hosts from MSNBC's daytime lineup.

The network has long been in a ratings slide, and "The Cycle," "Now with Alex Wagner," "The Ed Show," "The Reid Report" and "Ronan" have all been canceled this year. Straight news, partly led by former "NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams will be filling the spaces.

Mediaite noted that Scarborough has long wanted to reduce the liberal leanings of the channel, saying after the first round of show cancellations, "I think that it's very important, especially in the daytime [that] they do hard news, they do it down the middle."
