Late last month, the largest U.S. missile test in history successfully engaged five separate targets at once. The test was a big leap forward for missile defense technology and a rebuttal to those who have criticized the U.S. missile defense program as unworkable and a spending boondoggle. It is workable, we now know, and can succeed in stopping multiple warheads heading for the United States or one of its allies in Europe, even if it happens to infuriate Russia.
