'Fort Dix 5' Lawyers Ask Judge to Overturn Verdict

CAMDEN, N.J. -- Lawyers for five Muslim immigrants convicted of plotting to massacre U.S. soldiers are asking a judge in New Jersey to overturn last year's verdict.

The lawyers are in a Camden courtroom arguing that the federal government's claims against their clients were not supported by evidence.

The government says the men discussed attacking soldiers on the Army's Fort Dix. The men say they didn't seriously plan anything and they were manipulated by two paid FBI informants.

Separately, the men have written the judge to make legal claims of their own. It's not clear whether they might be allowed to address the court themselves.
