NFL great Boomer Esiason believes he probably suffers from the degenerative brain disease CTE after being knocked around on the football field over his 14 years with the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals.

"If I died tomorrow and my brain was taken and researched and I was found to have CTE, which most likely I have," Esiason said Monday on his WFAN radio show "Boomer & Carton."

"Because I think all football players probably have it, the way I read, the way I see it. But we don't know all the answers."

His comments follow a study reported by the Journal of the American Medical Association which found that of 203 former football players studied, CTE was diagnosed in 177.

The study includes 110 of 111 brains from former NFL players; 48 of 53 college players; nine of 14 semi-professional players, seven of eight Canadian Football league players and three of 14 high school players.
