Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and actress Angelina Jolie each came in first place on this list of the World's Most Admired people of 2015, putting them ahead of President Barack Obama, a new survey has found.

According to a YouGov poll conducted in January which pulled together results from 34 countries, Jolie is also more admired around the world than former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Queen Elizabeth II, and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Pakistani teenage Nobel Peace Prize laureate and education campaigner Malala Yousafzai is in second place on the women's list.

Obama comes second on the men's list behind Gates, just one spot ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping, and two spots ahead of martial artist Jackie Chan.

Obama however, was also ahead of Pope Francis among the world's most admired men.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin and actor Brad Pitt both came ahead of former President Bill Clinton.

The news is not all bad for Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Last month, Gallup released its list of most admired people in America and both came in No. 1 for their respective lists by gender.
