The survey, found that 40 percent work in excess of 40 hours a week.

The results of the polling suggests that the total number of Americans who are working more than 40 hours a week has increased in the past half year.

In November, a Rasmussen survey found that Americans are now more gloomy about the job market than they have been for almost two years.

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Labor statistics reported that the number of Americans who are working part-time because they cannot find full-time employment is down by 300,000, to 7.7 million.
