A homeless man in the Bronx found a duffel bag containing three weapons stolen from an armory in Worcester, Massachusetts, last week and he did the right thing by turning them over to police.

Authorities told the New York Post that the man, who was not identified, found the bag of guns — one M-4 rifle and two Sig Sauer M11 9 mm pistols — in Mullaly Park near Yankee Stadium on Friday. They comprised three of the 16 weapons stolen the week before from the Lincoln Stoddard Army Reserve Center.

James Walker Morales, a 34-year-old former Army reservist, was taken into custody in Long Island on Wednesday and charged with the armory break-in, the Boston Globe reported.

Morales, who is already facing accusations of child rape, now has the added charges of unlawful possession of a machine gun, unlawful possession of stolen firearms, and theft of government property to deal with, according to the Globe.

"This incident was deeply concerning to me and to many in our community, so I'm pleased investigators have been able to make an arrest so quickly," Worcester city manager Edward M. Augustus Jr. told the newspaper.

Authorities solved the armory break-in with help from the suspect himself. Morales was reportedly wearing a GPS-monitoring device when he allegedly busted a kitchen window to get into the Army Reserve Center.

Two days after the break-in, Morales allegedly cut off the bracelet, leading authorities to issue an arrest warrant for him, the Boston Herald reported.
