Actress Vanessa Hudgens is being investigated for vandalism at the sacrosanct Red Rock Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest, authorities confirmed. Like, duh, she proudly took a pic of her scrawled personal anti-eco Valentine heart and even posted it online, reportedly.

Hudgens and her actor/boyfriend Austin Butler could face up to six months in jail and a $5,000 fine if found guilty of defacing the rock, said the Arizona Republic in its reporting on the investigation.

Hudgens had posted a picture of the rock on Instagram with "Austin + Vanessa" scrawled on it before deleting it, said People magazine.

"This incident is currently under investigation, so there is not much we can share specifically," Brady Smith of the U.S. Forest Service told People. "However, we can say that the issue of people carving their names and other things in rocks in the Sedona and surrounding area is always a challenge we face and try to educate people about. We have found that when one person carves something, it encourages others to carve."

The Sedona area is tightly regulated and even visitors need to be part of the Red Rock Pass Program to park there, said The Phoenix New Times.

Hudgens got no sympathy from Meghan McCain, daughter of Arizona U.S. Sen. John McCain.

Hudgens is best known for the movies "High School Musical" in 2006 and "Spring Breakers" in 2012. On Jan. 31, she played the role of Rizzo in the Fox production of "Grease Live," that also starred Julianne Hough and Aaron Tveit.
