The USS John C. Stennis, a Navy aircraft carrier, sailed right through a rainbow during a training operation in the Pacific Ocean on Tuesday.

Award-winning Navy photographer Ignacio Perez snapped the shot from the deck of the 115,000-ton, 1,100-foot-long warship carving its path right through the rainbow.

"As a photographer I am used to documenting operational events like aircraft launches and recoveries," Perez, a 21-year-old mass communication specialist third class, told CNN by email. "But when I saw the rainbow I was excited because it was different. I knew the odds of the ship passing near another rainbow were pretty slim."

Perez told CNN he was on deck because he was covering the end of a 5K run. “But I noticed the rainbow as a fog cloud was breaking and quickly changed my location to ensure I had a better view of the ship passing underneath it," he said.

The beautiful photo was shared across the Internet, often with references to the U.S. Navy being “somewhere under the rainbow.”

“God is present...always watching over our troops! God Bless America!” someone commented on Fox News’ Facebook post about the rainbow.

“That’s God wrapping them in all of our prayers,” another person wrote.
