Turia Pitt, an Australian woman who suffered burns to more than half of her body in 2011, graces the cover of next month's Australian Women's Weekly and has become something of an online celebrity after her story of perseverance touched people all around the world.

Pitt, 26, underwent 100 surgeries and spent 864 days in a hospital after she was caught in a brushfire while running a marathon three years ago. But, despite the fact that the fire ravaged 65 percent of her body and left her permanently scarred, Pitt kept pushing and fighting to recover, never losing her spirit of positivity.

"We all have that inner strength, but rarely do we get the chance to see how incredible we truly are," she said in a statement, according to The Huffington Post. "I've had to claw my way back into life — learn to walk, to talk. All the things I had taken for granted before became seemingly impossible tasks."

Now, Pitt is stunning on the July cover of Australian Women's Weekly and inspiring women all across the globe to remember that it's what's on the inside that counts.

"Being on the cover of the Australian Women's Weekly is a huge honor. I feel very humbled," Pitt said in a statement. "For me, it sends the message that confidence equals beauty. There are a lot of women out there who are so beautiful but don’t have the confidence, and that's what gets you over the line."

Pitt, a mining engineer turned motivational speaker and author, is also featured as a judge of the magazine's Women of the Future program.

"When Turia was photographed as part of our Women of the Future judging panel among a group of similarly impressive Australian women, it was clear from the moment she sat in front of the camera that the July cover had to belong to her," editor-in-chief Helen McCabe said about putting Turia on the cover. "Any attempt to describe the magic and beauty of Turia seems to get lost in platitudes or clichรฉs. Yet I have never met a more remarkable person."

After the release of Pitt's cover, Twitter users praised her bravery and confidence online.
