Swedish Royal Baby Born Into a Family Busy With Wedded Bliss

Sweden celebrated a new royal baby on Monday as Princess Madeleine gave birth to her second child, just days after Madeleine's prince of a brother married a former topless model in a lavish royal wedding.

The princess, 33, and husband Christopher O'Neill, 40, gave birth to a daughter, Princess Leonare, in February  2014, less than a year after they were married in Stockholm Palace's Royal Chapel, according to Us Weekly.

"The Marshal of the Realm is delighted to announce that HRH Princess Madeleine gave birth to a son on June 15 at 1:45 p.m.," read a statement on the Facebook page of Kungahuset. "Both mother and child are in good health. Svante Lindqvist, Marshal of the Realm."

The newborn prince is sixth in line to the Swedish throne and is the third grandchild of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia.

On Saturday, Prince Carl-Philip, 36, Princess Madeleine's brother, tied the knot with Sofia Hellqvist, 30, reported the Daily Mail. The new princess has changed her image from her days as a topless model who was best known for kissing porn star Jenna Jameson on the 2005 European reality television show "Paradise Hotel."

Us Weekly noted that Hellqvist also posed topless in the Swedish men's magazine Slitz before meeting her husband.

The Daily Mail said Prince Cal-Philip and Hellqvist met in 2010 and enjoyed the spotlight in front of numerous heads of state who attended the wedding. Guests included the United Kingdom's Earl and Countess of Wessex; Denmark's Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik, 47, and Crown Princess Mary, 43; Queen Mathilde of the Belgians; Queen Maxima of the Netherlands; Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway and Queen Sonja of Norway.

Great Britain's Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton didn't attend the wedding, opting to go to the Trooping of the Color in recognition of Queen Elizabeth's 89th birthday, said US Weekly. The event was also the first time Duchess Kate had been seen in public since giving birth to Princess Charlotte.
