Suzanne Crough's cause of death in April was a heart ailment that weakened the former "Partridge Family" star's heart when pumping blood, a Clark County, Nevada coroner has ruled.

The coroner stated that Crough, 52, suffered from an arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia, a rare form of cardiomyopathy, according to The Wrap. The website stated that the condition happens when the heart muscle of the right ventricle is replaced by fat and/or fibrous tissue, causing the right ventricle to dilate and contract poorly.

The condition can cause a weakening of the heart's ability to pump blood and leads to abnormal heart rhythms and while increasing the risk of sudden cardiac arrest or death, reported The Wrap.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, the condition occurs in about one in 5,000 people and while it can affect people with no family history, it can run in families.

Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia can be traced back to family history in 30 to 50 percent of its cases. The clinic recommended that all first- and second-degree family members be evaluated carefully for this form of cardiomyopathy, regardless of symptoms of lack of symptoms.

Crough portrayed Tracy Partridge, the tambourine-playing youngster on the 1970s ABC comedy that followed the adventures of the family musical group. She was married with two daughters at the time of her death, TMZ reported.

"Although, we did not know each other very well due to our age difference during our 'Partridge' days, I always thought fondly of Suzanne and her family," David Cassidy, one of the biggest stars of the show, told TMZ of Crough at the time of her death.

Danny Bonaduce, another star of the "Partridge Family," also remembered Crough in a statement with People magazine.

"Everyone thought I'd be the first Partridge to go," Bonaduce said to People. "Sadly, it was little Tracy. Suzanne was a wonderful lady and a good mom. She will be missed."

In a 2010 "Partridge Family" reunion on the "Today" show, Crough said of the sitcom: "I think America was also looking for a funny, wholesome show. It kind of goes through waves."
