Country music star Shania Twain was forced to cancel tour dates Tuesday and Wednesday because of a respiratory infection, according to a message on the artist's official Facebook page.

Twain's "Rock This Country" tour had been scheduled to perform at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire, on Tuesday and at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York, on Wednesday, according to a Facebook post.

The site said that Twain would return to the stage Friday at a concert at Quebec City's Videotron.

"The concert dates are unable to be rescheduled due to Shania Twain's current touring schedule," the Facebook post said. "All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. Shania Twain apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause her fans and greatly appreciates their understanding."

Twain is in the middle of her first tour in 11 years, according to People magazine. The five-time Grammy Award winner, 50, told ABC's "Good Morning America" in March that the 48-city tour would actually be her last.

"This is going to be a big tour for me because it's going to be my last," Twain said, according to People. "This is my last tour. I'm going to make the most of it. Let's put it that way . . . I just really want to go out with a bang."

The tour kicked off in June in Seattle. Twain will be performing the rest of the month in her native Canada, moving on to Toronto's Air Canada Centre for a concert Sunday, according to her website. She will end the month with two dates — Oct. 24 and 25 — at the Save On Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, British Columbia, and then Prospera Place in Kelowna, British Columbia, on Oct. 27.

From 1992 to 2011, Twain was one of country's music biggest acts, selling more than 11 million albums globally, reported People. She divorced her husband Robert "Mutt" Lange in 2010 and married her current beau Frédéric Thiébaud in 2011.

Twain closed down her two-year "Shania: Still the One" residency show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas last December. Earlier this year, the country music star released a live CD and DVD from those performances.
