A Secret Service officer was arrested this week in a child sex sting investigation in Delaware in which the married father who sometimes worked at the White House is accused of sending explicit photos to someone he believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

Lee Robert Moore, 37, has been charged in federal court with attempting to transfer obscene material to a minor, two counts of solicitation of a minor for sex, and one count of obscenity material provided to a minor in state court in the investigation spearheaded by the Delaware Child Predator Task Force, the Wilmington News Journal reported.

A detective with the Task Force created a profile for a 14-year-old girl on the cellphone app Meet24 and soon received a message from "Rob," according to the federal complaint obtained by the News Journal.

There, "Rob" began chatting with the decoy about what clothes she liked to wear in bed, and the two soon moved over to another app called Kik and continued their conversations.

"Moore soon moved the chats sexual," the complaint states. "He stated he wanted to travel to Delaware and meet in person for sex. Moore made it clear that he knew I was a 14-year-old girl."

He sent photos of his genitals and encouraged the girl to do the same, according to the News Journal. He then got suspicious and cut off contact. The Secret Service placed Moore on leave Nov. 6 and asked him to report to the Maryland State Police barracks in Centerville, Maryland, on Monday. He was then arrested.

Moore confessed, according to authorities, that some of his communication with the person he thought was a teenage girl happened while he was on-duty at the White House, according to The Daily Beast.

"The Secret Service takes allegations of potential criminal activity extremely seriously," Nicole Mainor, a Secret Service spokesperson, said in a statement. "All Secret Service issued equipment was retrieved and the employee's access to all Secret Service facilities was terminated."

Moore's arrest is just the latest black eye for the Secret Service, which has been under scrutiny for scandals that date back to 2012, when more than a dozen agents and officers were implicated in a South American prostitution scandal, The Washington Post reported.
