Russell Branyan, a former Major League baseball player, was arrested this week for allegedly breaking into his ex-wife's Nashville home, taking some items, and tampering with the thermostat, making it extremely cold in the residence.

According to Deadspin, Branyan broke into the home Oct. 30 and later reportedly told a witness that he had taken items from the home and wanted to return them. He was arrested Monday night on a felony aggravated burglary charge and released on a $2,500 bond.

"The defendant entered while the victim was asleep and removed various items from the home. The defendant also tampered with the thermostat inside of the home, making it extremely cold," read an arrest warrant for Branyan.

Branyan, who has four kids with his ex-wife Jill, has run into domestic issues before. After pleading no contest and completing a diversion program, he had assault charges dropped in 2008 after an incident with Jill in a car, according to the New York Daily News.

The Cleveland Indians drafted Branyan in 1994 and he spent 14 years in the Major Leagues, playing with the Indians, Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, Arizona Diamondbacks, Tampa Bay Rays, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, and Los Angeles Angels, according to MLBTradeRumors.com.

Branyan has not played in the Major Leagues since 2011.
