As part of his media blitz for the upcoming "Anchorman 2" movie, Will Ferrell stopped by a local North Dakota TV station over the weekend to deliver the news in true Ron Burgundy style.

Ferrell, who stars as the outrageous 1970s anchorman in the original 2004 comedy, sat at the desk at KXMB in Bismarck, N.D., Saturday night and co-hosted the entire half-hour broadcast as Burgundy.

From a segment on a trash fire at an area Sam's Club to a report on "No Shave November," Burgundy remains as dramatic and melodramatic as ever. At times, it looks as though co-anchor Amber Schatz is about to burst into laughter.

KXMB aired a one-on-one interview with Burgundy Sunday night where he talked about his experience guest anchoring North Dakota's news.

"Amber, my co-anchor, she kept touching me underneath the table, which I found very unprofessional and delightful all at the same time," he said. "My impression of North Dakota and Bismarck in general … wonderful, wonderful people. Beautiful sights and scenery. Great eateries."

Schatz appeared on CNN Monday to talk about what is was like working with Ferrell aka Burgundy.

"When he first came in, he looked like Ron Burgundy but he was talking as Will and it was really natural," she said. "So I hadn't heard the Ron Burgundy voice until we did our first run-through and that's when I pretty much broke down laughing because I couldn’t get over hearing it in person."

The KXMB appearance wasn’t Ferrell's first stunt to publicize the upcoming "Anchorman" sequel. Burgundy also co-hosted the Canadian curling trials Sunday night, guest starred in a series of Dodge Durango commercials, inspired a new Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor, and sparked an "Anchorman" exhibit at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

"Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" hits theaters Dec. 18.
