Rob Lowe Saw Bigfoot While Filming His New A&E Series

Rob Lowe saw Bigfoot in the Ozark Mountains while filming his new A&E reality series “The Lowe Files” and said at one point he thought he “was going to be killed.”

“I’m fully aware that I sound like a crazy, Hollywood kook right now,” Lowe told Entertainment Weekly, adding he was scared out of his mind during the encounter.

“I was lying on the ground thinking I was going to be killed,” Lowe said.

The actor said he was with his two adult sons, who co-star on the series, when they had the “incredible encounter” with Bigfoot – also known in the Ozarks region as the wood ape – according to the Huffington Post, which was tuned in to Lowe giving Entertainment Weekly a preview of the encounter which he said will be seen in the show’s season finale.

“We’re 100 miles from the nearest town. We spent 45 minutes on the most rugged, brutal mountain trails. It’s 1 in the morning,” Lowe said. “There are a lot of serious former military men with loaded weapons, then something starts approaching our camps that is defying their orders to stop and their warnings that [they were] armed.”

“The Lowe Files,” which will debut on Wednesday, Aug. 2, will be nine episodes long and it will follow the Lowes as they conduct several “scientific investigations” of things paranormal, said Entertainment Weekly.

“While fun in spirit, the Lowes are able to conduct deliberate and scientific investigations on a highly-sophisticated level by meeting with top experts, using high-tech monitoring equipment and taking in-depth training courses,” said the network.

Lowe has always had an interest for “interesting, outrageous,” and “unbelievable stories,” EW noted.

“I grew up watching Leonard Nimoy’s ‘In Search Of.’ I loved it,” Lowe said. “People always ask me what my guilty pleasure is on television, and my guilty pleasures are ‘Ancient Aliens’ and ‘Finding Bigfoot.’ I don’t hate-watch them, but I also don’t watch them as a total believer. I watch them hoping to believe, because a world in which Bigfoot exists and aliens exist, to me, is more interesting and fun. That’s the spirit of our show.”
