Actress Reese Witherspoon is opening up about her 2013 disorderly conduct arrest where she notoriously tried to use the fame card with a police officer.

The incident revealed “a complexity that people didn’t know about,” Witherspoon told reporters at a press conference for her film “Wild” at a London Film Festival.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Witherspoon said it was a moment when people realized she wasn’t exactly what they thought she was.

"I made a mistake. We all make mistakes. The best you can do is say sorry and learn from it and move on,” she said.

The Oscar-winning actress previously apologized for her behavior when her husband, Jim Toth, was arrested for DUI in the spring of 2013. Witherspoon told George Stephanopoulos on "Good Morning America" that she panicked at the sight of her husband being arrested.

During the incident, an officer asked her to get back in the car, and the police officer charged her with disorderly conduct when she repeatedly refused to comply with his order. Witherspoon plead no contest to the charge and paid a $213 fine.

“I told him I was pregnant. I'm not pregnant! I said crazy things,” Witherspoon said at the time. “I was so disrespectful to him. I have police officers in my family. I work with police officers every day. I know better."

Besides opening up about her brush with the law, Witherspoon also told reporters that she didn’t have to act for some of the scenes in “Wild,” particularly ones showing her character’s incompetence at camping.

"When you see me putting together the tent, that's literally me putting together the tent. It took me two hours. I could not figure out the f—ing tent. ... And when I kicked the stove, it's because I couldn't make the f—ing stove work,” Witherspoon said.
