A Raiders stadium plan worth $750 million was approved by a Nevada oversight committee hoping to to lure the Raiders from Oakland to Las Vegas.

The committee voted unanimously Thursday in favor of the recommended hefty cash flow that the Raiders could receive in public funding for the project. The stadium will seat 65,000 and would be partially financed by billionaire casino mogul Sheldon Anderson if those involved are able to get the support of “the governor, the Legislature, and three-quarters of NFL owners,” The Associated Press reported.

This deal has been in the works for months, and if finalized, it will mark the first time that Nevada has had a professional football team.

“We get an NFL team, and that is a significant step forward for Las Vegas and the community,” committee chairman Steve Hill told the AP about the project’s potential. “Those teams bring the community together. We’re going to have people wearing Raiders jerseys and high-fiving each other…That’s not something you can put a number on.”

Raider’s owner Mark Davis was once pushing for the team to move to Los Angeles before losing out on that opportunity to the now, Los Angeles Rams, Bleacher Report noted.

“I think everybody wins in this,” Davis said. “We still have work to do. We’re going to make Las Vegas and Nevada proud.”

“The opportunity came up in Las Vegas, and we’re giving it full bore,” Davis said in June, according to Bleacher report. “This is not a pawn in a game. We are serious. Right now, I’m focused on Las Vegas. We think it could make a great marriage with Las Vegas and the Raiders.”

The Raiders have moved around quite a bit as they were founded in Oakland before moving to Los Angeles from 1982 to 1994 and then back to Oakland where they could be leaving again very soon, Yahoo Sports noted.
