Iconic singer and diva Patti LaBelle will be adding to her acting credits soon with a role on the upcoming season of FX’s "American Horror Story," TV Line reports.

LaBelle, 70, is reportedly going to play the mother to Gabourey Sidibe’s character in “American Horror Story: Freak Show” for the series that begins its fourth season in October, TV Line said.

Set in the early 1950s, the show will center around the culture of the circus freak show in Jupiter, Florida. LaBelle will reportedly be in four episodes where she uncovers the secrets surrounding a clown killer.

According to TV Line, Michael Chiklis will join LaBelle in the role of a strongman who is married to Angela Bassett’s character. Other actors returning to the anthology show are Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, and Frances Conroy.

At the 2014 Comic-Con in San Diego last month, Tim Minear, "American Horror Story" executive producer, said the fourth season of the show won’t be like the first three. He also said actor John Carroll Lynch will join the cast as a villain and who will "scare the s— out of you," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sarah Paulson will reportedly play a two-headed character in “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” Bette and Dot Tattler.

“It’s done in a way that’s never been done before in a sense that no person has played a person with two heads,” Paulson said when she appeared with several of her cast mates at a Comic-Con panel discussion. “People have done it with another actress (but) this is a new thing.”

The Grammy-winning LaBelle “is widely regarded as the queen of rock & soul music,” says Biography.com, and is best known for songs such as "Lady Marmalade," "When You Talk About Love," and "New Attitude." LaBelle was a member of the Ordettes in 1959, a group that later became The Bluebelles. Her solo career began in the early 1980s when she released the album, “I’m in Love Again.”
