An Oklahoma City roller coaster got stuck Wednesday, stranding eight riders, including seven children.

No one was hurt in the incident on the Silver Bullet coaster at Frontier City, and firefighters walked the stranded riders down a catwalk to safety, The Associated Press reported.

The ride has now been shut down for inspection by the Oklahoma Department of Labor, KOCO-TV reported.

The coaster lost momentum on the first hill of the ride. Riders in the back half of the roller coaster were able to be evacuated by park staff, but those in the front cars were stranded for more than an hour while fire fighters were called to rescue them.

"We were just going up the hill, and suddenly it just stopped," Coltan Flores, one of the first people rescued from the ride, told KFOR-TV.

While firefighters assessed the situation, the stranded passengers were provided with water, the station reported.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department posted updates about the rescue on Twitter.
