Nicholas Brendon, the actor best know for starring on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer," was arrested Friday on a charge of criminal mischief and property damage in Tallahassee, Florida.

The 43-year-old actor, who also appears in CBS’ “Criminal Minds,” was in Tallahassee for a comic book convention when officers were called to his hotel room and found overturned furniture, the phone torn off the wall, and water flowing from the bathroom to the hallway, CNN reported.

Brendon allegedly called police at about 11 p.m. Friday saying his phone and wallet had been stolen, People reported. He later withdrew his claim.

"While in Mr. Brendon's presence I observed him with toothpaste all over his face and shirt, his pants were torn, he had defecated on himself and the pajama pants were wet below the knees," an officer said, according to People.

A bottle of sleeping pills, which had been filled for 10 pills that day, was found with only one pill in it.

Damage to the hotel room also included a porcelain decorative piece shattered on the floor and the door to the dresser area was ripped off.

Police estimated damages as much as $1,000.

A court appearance is set for March 30, The Tallahassee Democrat reported.

Brendon told the newspaper that he has been dealing with depression.

"I stopped taking my meds a while ago, which was a mistake," he said. "It culminated yesterday with my taking some sleeping pills and then going into a blackout."

The actor has been arrested twice before under similar circumstances. Once in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in February and in Boise, Idaho, in October.
