Misty Upham, the Native American actress who went missing earlier this month, was in a "psychotic" state when she wandered off from her sister's Seattle apartment, her father revealed this week, adding that she also had a history of saying "suicidal" things.

The 32-year-old, who has appeared in movies such as "August: Osage County," "Frozen River," and "Django Unchained," was reportedly upset and had stopped taking her anxiety and bipolar medication when disappeared October 5, CBS News reported.

Charles Upham spoke out on Dori Monson's KIRO-FM radio talk show this week and pleaded for help in finding his missing daughter.

"She was visibly upset and she was acting erratic, her behavior," Upham said of Misty's state of mind before she wandered off. "[She] was not in her right mind."

Auburn police Cmdr. Steve Stocker told the Seattle Times last week that, while they are concerned about the actress, they do not consider her endangered because her disappearance is not unexplained, involuntary, or suspicious.

But that response left Charles Upham frustrated.

"It wasn't like she just decided to take time off. She's out there, she's missing, she needs help, she needs her medication," he told the radio station.

Upham's family told the Seattle Times that Misty Upham's career was on the upswing. She was nominated for a 2014 Screen Actors Guild award along with the cast of "August: Osage County." She played Johnna Monevata, a Native American housekeeper, in the film that starred Julia Roberts and Meryl Steep.

Upham was also nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2009 for her role as Lila Littlewolf in "Frozen River."

She had recently moved to Seattle to help care for her father, who is recovering from a stroke.

Misty Upham was last seen wearing a purple sweater, black T-shirt, gray sweat pants, and silver tennis shoes. Her hair is cut short, she has wounds on both arms, and a birthmark on her back near her neck, according to the Times. When she left, she was carrying a white cellphone and a California identification card.
