A Minnesota newsman was in the middle of reporting on a bank robbery Tuesday when the suspect returned to rob the bank a second time.

Reporter Adam Sallet of KIMT-TV was broadcasting live outside of Sterling State Bank in the city of Rochester when a bank employee ran out of the building and informed him that the alleged robber was running down the street with his second haul in as many days, The Associated Press reported.

"Just 24 hours ago this bank—" said Sallet, beginning his broadcast.

"That guy right there. That's the robber," the bank employee interrupted, pointing off-screen.

"What? Oh, that's the robber," said Sallet, smirking at the absurdity of the situation.

"This is live TV, folks! That's the robber, just went by, according to the bank employee. So, I've got to go here and call 911. I'll talk to you later."

With that, he ended the broadcast.

According to the Rochester Post-Bulletin, Sallet soon spoke with police, who said that his eyewitness account did help catch the suspect, Ryan Russell Liskow, 36, just a few hours later.

Rochester police Capt. John Sherwin said Sallet "obviously had information right away."

Witnesses were "able to provide a vehicle description, which already matched the vehicle we were looking for, so we knew right away that this was very likely the same guy that hit [the bank Monday]."

"One of our Rochester officers was on his way back from training in the Twin Cities on [U.S. Highway] 52 when he saw the vehicle going northbound," Sherwin continued. "He was in an unmarked vehicle, so he turned around and followed [the suspect] until we could get assistance from Dakota County and the state patrol."
