Three migrants tried to hop a truck to England this week, and stowed away next to a polar bear cage before being caught by French police.

According to USA Today, video of the entire incident was captured Tuesday by Yorkshire Wildlife Park in England, which was transporting Nissan the polar bear from Russia, through the French city of Calais, to the U.K.

"There was a slight hiccup at Calais. Nissan had some unexpected guests in the back of the lorry," said Simon Marsh, animal collections manager at the park, according to the BBC.

"Obviously he was in a crate, so it was all very safe and secure, but I think they were a bit surprised when they saw a polar bear."

The beginning of the footage shows a group of men in hats and hoodies rush the back of a semi-truck that is stopped in traffic, and throw open the doors to the cargo container.

The men were clearly surprised to see the 22-month-old Nissan, and three of them decided to take their chances by climbing into the truck, right beside the cage. The others decided to take a rain check, and took off into the night from whence they came.

Soon, after witnesses contacted the authorities, the police showed up, and escorted the stowaways off the truck.

Nissan, who had the whole place to himself again, made the rest of his journey to Doncaster without incident. He now resides on a 10-acre preserve, and park workers are preparing to introduce him to two other polar bears, Victor, 16, and Pixel, 2.
