The liliger is a big cat breed in which the father is a lion and the mother is a lion-tiger hybrid, called a liger. The Novosibirsk zoo in Russia is home to a family of them.

The first liliger was born in the zoo last year, according to The Associated Press, and now there's a second litter of three, all of them females.

They were born in May and now have grown up enough to start exploring their surroundings, showing an endearing clumsy energy.

Their mother, Zita, was born in the zoo in 2004. Their father, Sam, is an African lion.

Ligers, made popular by "Napoleon Dynamite," made news when liger cubs were born in China in May 2011.

The ligers, born at a wildlife reserve in eastern China, were the offspring of a Manchurian tiger and an African lion.

Four cubs were born, but only two survived — one male and one female. Their caretaker said the two cubs who didn’t make it weren’t healthy and died soon after birth.

A liger is the offspring of parents of the same genus, but a different species; a male lion and a female tiger.

Reportedly, there are only 20 ligers alive today.
