Lego slippers must have been made with parents in mind because the padded soles will protect their feet when they step on one of the toy connecting building blocks they purchased for their children this Christmas.

They may be tough to get, though. Only 1,500 pairs of the slippers are being sold through the Lego France website, said Ad Week.

"Every parent knows the searing pain of stepping on an errant Lego brick in the middle of the night," wrote the mag's Rebecca Cullers. "It might even be how your kids learned their first curse words. Luckily, Lego has heard our cries of pain and has teamed up with French ad agency Brand Station to make Lego-branded padded slippers so your feet will survive that bricking."

A 30-second video about the slippers on the Lego France/Brand Station Facebook page has already garnered more than 315,000 views.

Amanda Kooser of CNET.com says the squared-shaped slippers can be worn on either foot, which makes them handy "fumbling for them in the dark."

"They come in bright red and yellow with the bold Lego logo on the top of the foot," said Kooser. "They have an open back so they can be quickly shuffled onto your feet before you step into a potentially painful area full of little Lego landmines."

"A massive amount of padding on the insoles protects your tootsies from even the biggest Lego pieces. You could step on a Duplo brick and come out fine. You could even crush an entire Lego Millennium Falcon, but don't let the slippers' superpowers go to your head."

Ad Week's Cullers said she believed the slippers will prove popular enough that Lego will have to give in to demand and make more.

"But now that the world has heard about it, they'd better start making a couple thousand (at least), because Lego enthusiasts are going to demand their own," said Cullers. "In fact, if I don't see these available for purchase at my nearby Legoland Discovery Center within the year, I will be seriously disappointed. And for those of you who are now going to order your Christmas Legos through Lego France, bon chance."
