French actress Léa Seydoux has been cast as the next Bond girl, and will star opposite Daniel Craig in the series' 24th installment.

The Daily Mail reported that director Sam Mendes and producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson had originally been considering a Scandinavian actress, but changed their minds after coming across the 29-year-old femme fatale.

Seydoux's star has taken off in recent years as she's landed roles in American movies like "Inglourious Basterds," "Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol," and "The Grand Budapest Hotel." Her work in the lesbian-themed "Blue Is the Warmest Color" was also highly critically acclaimed, and won her the Palme d'Or.

The actress will meet with fellow cast mates Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomie Harris in November for a script rehearsal. In the meantime, she will prep for her role and her specific "look" for the film with a series of costume, make-up, and camera tests with the director.

The Mail said that the producers are still on the hunt for one more lead actress for the film, likely from Italy.

The film will begin filming this winter, and is expected to be released in November 2015.
