Lady Gaga's tribute performance to the late David Bowie at Monday's annual Grammy Awards was met with open arms and high praise from many, while others were turned off.

"She peacocked and pranced and strutted and boogied," described The Daily Beast.

"Her vocals were flawless. Her wardrobe channeled Ziggy Stardust, the performance styled to the 'Aladdin Sane' album. There were robotic legs, a dancing mechanical keyboard, and psychedelic lights. And there was Bowie. There was Bowie's joy. His exuberant weirdness. There was scale and spectrum and ambition, all of it at once scattershot and meticulous."

In a marathon medley of Bowie's "Changes," "Ziggy Stardust," "Suffragette City," "Let's Dance," "Heroes," and more, Lady Gaga ran the length of the stage, rocking a shock of orange hair and clad in a silver and white jumpsuit.

While many complimented the performance, one common criticism was that the songs transitioned "all-too-quickly," as the Daily Beast noted. "Gaga barely had time to get into the groove before it was on to the next."

Technology website The Verge noted that the performance made "heavy use of computer graphics, holography, and live video processing" and at one point Gaga "disappeared behind a screen and yielded to a warped projection."

The advanced graphics and imagery were the first expose of The Recording Academy's new, multi-year partnership deal with Intel, the computing company.

"With the arsenal of the world's leading technology at my fingertips, I now have the ability to invent the un-inventable," Gaga said in the run-up to Monday night's performance.
